How to split a PDF or extract a page range

    1. Choose one PDF and check its page count below the drop zone.
    2. Enter pages such as 1-3, 5, 8-10, or leave the range empty to include every page.
    3. Choose one extracted PDF or separate PDFs, select “Split PDF”, and download the result. Multiple files also come in a ZIP.

Extracting pages is useful when you only need one chapter, a few exercises, or a handout from a much larger document. In “One PDF with selected pages” mode, all chosen pages become a single new PDF. In “Separate PDF for each selected page” mode, each chosen page gets its own file, with the original page number in the filename so it is easy to identify.

Ranges use the PDF’s physical page positions, starting at 1, rather than printed page labels. A cover sheet counts as page 1 even when the next page is printed as “1”. Comma-separated ranges follow the order you enter them, and duplicate page numbers are included only once. For example, 4-6, 1 puts pages four through six before the first page.

All processing happens in the current browser tab. Your original file stays intact, and you choose when to save the result. Keep input under 150 MB; very large page-by-page exports may need smaller ranges to fit device memory. After downloading, open a few extracted files to check the selection. Password-protected PDFs need an unlocked copy, and signed or interactive documents should be reviewed because creating a new PDF can change document-level features.

    A few useful answers

How do I extract pages 2 through 5?

Enter 2-5 in Page ranges and choose “One PDF with selected pages”. The result contains only those four physical PDF pages.

Can I split every page into a separate PDF?

Yes. Leave Page ranges empty and choose “Separate PDF for each selected page”. Download the individual PDFs or the ZIP.

Do page ranges use printed page numbers?

No. They use physical page positions, beginning with the first PDF page as 1. Covers and introductory pages count.

    Is my original PDF changed?

No. This tool creates new downloads in your browser. The original PDF on your device stays unchanged.
