Make question-and-answer cards from your PDF, check the draft, and copy it into a Quizlet set.
Make cards from my PDF · Open the converter and try the sample
Start without an account or credit card on PDFtoDeck. Free: three conversions a day, the first five pages per PDF, and up to 20 cards per conversion.
Your PDF becomes a set of questions and answers
Here is the example shown in our sample preview:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where in the plant cell does photosynthesis happen? | In the chloroplasts. |
Review and edit the cards in PDFtoDeck before copying them. Quizlet receives text to import, not the PDF itself.
Read the sample PDF, or open the homepage and select “Try a sample PDF” to explore the prebuilt, editable 15-card deck. The sample does not use a conversion.
How to move PDF flashcards into Quizlet
- Choose a PDF in PDFtoDeck. Use a text PDF or a clear English scan. Choose the card count and generate your draft.
- Check the cards. Compare the questions and answers with the source. Edit inaccurate or unclear wording and delete cards you do not need.
- Copy the import text. In the results, choose “Copy for Quizlet.”
- Open Quizlet. Use the text-import feature when creating a set, if available in your Quizlet account. Paste the copied text; labels and availability may vary.
- Check the separators. The copied text uses a tab between each question and answer, and a new line between cards. Match those separators in Quizlet’s import settings and review the pairs before saving.
This is a copy-and-import workflow. PDFtoDeck does not connect to your Quizlet account or automatically publish a set.
Check the pairs before saving
Each question should sit beside its answer, and each new card should start on a separate row in the import preview. If the columns look wrong, check the separator settings before continuing.
Then read through the set. A generated answer can omit context or get a detail wrong. Your PDF is the source to check against, not the generated draft.
What you can do for free
PDFtoDeck includes three free conversions a day. Each conversion reads the first five pages of a PDF and makes up to 20 cards. Editing, “Copy for Quizlet,” CSV download, and Anki export are included.
No PDFtoDeck account is required for the free conversion. You use your own Quizlet account to create and manage the destination set; Quizlet has its own terms, features, and pricing.
Longer PDFs are limited to the first five pages on the free plan. Dense material may be shortened to fit the generation limit. See plan details and availability if you need more room.
Text PDFs and clear English scans
Lecture notes, a chapter, or other readable study material can be a starting point. Clear English scans use on-device OCR. Scan quality affects recognition, so check the source and generated cards.
The result is a first draft of question-and-answer cards. It is not a page-by-page copy of the PDF, and it should not replace checking the material yourself.
Where your text goes
Your browser reads the PDF. Extracted text is sent to our server and DeepSeek to generate flashcards. See our privacy policy for provider details.
When you paste cards into Quizlet, you are sharing that card text with Quizlet under its policies. PDFtoDeck does not upload the set for you.
